Scholarships
For a complete look at the NROTC program and scholarships, visit the U.S. Navy NROTC site for details on academic and physical requirements, financial information, application instructions and general program details.

Tulane NROTC students also enjoy several other exclusive scholarship benefits. All Tulane NROTC scholarship recipients will be awarded a cooperative room and board scholarship by Tulane University. This additional scholarship, provided by Tulane University, covers basic housing arrangements and provides a meal plan at the Bruff Cafeteria at no cost to the student. This scholarship is valued in excess of $6,000. It is only valid for Tulane University students, however, and does not apply to crosstown students.

Applying for a Tulane NROTC Scholarship

• Go to https://www.nrotc.navy.mil/application/default.cfm to fill out a scholarship application online. In general, the four-year scholarship deadline is in early January. This is the January in the spring semester of your senior year in high school. Applications can be filled out as early as the summer following your junior year in high school.

• Take the SAT or ACT and release your test scores directly to the NROTC Scholarship Program (program code 0656).

• Call 1-800-873-9283 or e-mail undergrad.admission@tulane.edu to request an undergraduate application to Tulane University or one of our crosstown affiliate universities.

• Send in your application to Tulane University, the University of New Orleans, Xavier, Dillard, or Loyola University. You must be accepted to Tulane University or any of the crosstown schools to use your NROTC scholarship at NROTC Tulane.

• Upon receiving written notification that you are "board eligible," notify the NROTC Program Coordinator at the Navy or Marine Corps processing station designated in your notification letter to initiate processing of your complete application package for presentation to the scholarship board. VERY IMPORTANT: When you are asked for your number 1, 2, and 3 college choices, you MUST choose Tulane as your FIRST choice to increase the probability that you will be assigned to Tulane University. If you choose another school and change your mind, it is unlikely (due to budgeting) that you will be allowed to transfer your scholarship from a less expensive school to Tulane.

• Should you be selected as a scholarship winner and decide to use your scholarship at Tulane University, contact us at 1-800-800-6289 ext. 6 for further information.
